Ingredients
Tamarind water - 1cup
Green chilly - 5
Garlic - 10
Ginger - 1 big
Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Pepper powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Jaggery - 1 1/2 big piece
Ellu or gingely seed (til)- 1/4 teaspoon
Rice - 2 teaspoon
Fenugreek - 1/4 teaspoon
Hing - 1/4 teaspoon
Salt
Oil
Dry red chilli - 4
Curry leaves
Mustard seeds
In a mud pot, add tamarind water. When it starts to boil, add finely cut green chillies, ginger and garlic. Meanwhile heat till, rice and fenugreek in a pan. Saute it for two minutes. Switch off the flame. Once it's cold, grind it to fine powder. Add this to the pot. Mix it well. Add red chilli powder, turmeric and pepper powder to this mixture. Add jaggery paste to this. Add salt and Hing powder. Cook it for 10- 15 minutes. For tampering, add oil in a pan. Once it's hot, add mustard seeds, Curry leaves, 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds and dry red chilli. Mix it with pulinji. it's normally tasty after few hours or even better the next day. Special thanks to Rakhi's Mom for the recipe. Couldn't take better pictures as I was in hurry.
